Capacity: 8 participants

Experience the deep peace and simple joy of slow walking meditation in the Plants of Promise Garden at the Arboretum. Each walking meditation practice begins with a series of very gentle Qigong movements. Qigong is an easy, mindful movement practice that supports the body's natural healing processes, promotes healthy circulation, invites a sense of inner calm, and releases tension from the body. Accessible to all ages and all bodies. Group size is limited so that physical distancing can be observed. Participants wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring their own masks.


Please adhere to all guidelines in the reminder email you will receive prior to the class. You should arrive wearing a face mask. Masks should be worn at all times out of consideration for all class participants. We ask that if participants need to remove their mask, they do so only where distancing of at least 6 feet from others is maintained. We ask that you try to keep a distance of at least 6' between others as much as possible.


Jenne Sluder is a qualified mental health professional and is certified through the International Association of Yoga Therapists as a trauma-sensitive therapeutic yoga instructor. She holds a Master’s in Transpersonal Psychology: Ecopsychology from Naropa University and specializes in mind-body approaches to improving mental and physical health. An Asheville native, Sluder works with individuals and with groups using somatic (body-based), contemplative (mindfulness-based), ecological (nature-based), and compassion-based practices.
