Methods of Teaching Environmental Education (MOTEE)
ONLINE | Mondays and Thursdays, July 18 - August 1, 2022

NCEE - 10 Criteria hours toward certification
 
 
 
MOTEE is a 10-hour workshop designed to help practitioners create inclusive and age appropriate learning experiences, gain group management skills, practice teaching methods to promote inquiry, and gain skills in designing objectives, lessons, and assessments for EE programs using NC Essential Standards as a foundation. 
 
The class opens online for access to course materials on Monday, July 11. 
 
Michelle Pearce is EENC's Program Coordinator. She manages professional development programs and supports a variety of projects that make EENC a go-to resource for environmental educators in our state. Michelle is a certified North Carolina Environmental Educator and has a Master's of Arts in Education with a focus in Science Education. Her passion is empowering educators with tools that will help them provide equitable and inclusive learning.
 
 
 
*Instructions for joining via Zoom will be emailed to registrants the day prior to the class. A recording of the class will be made available to registered participants for a limited period following the session for review and to provide access to those with scheduling conflicts.

July 21 - 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. live Zoom Call 2 (Thursday)
July 25 - 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. live Zoom Call 3 (Monday)
July 28 - 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. live Zoom Call 4 (Thursday)
Aug 1 - 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. live Zoom Call 5 (Monday)

Registration and Participation in Online Classes through the Arboretum:

    • This class will be taught online via Zoom. Make sure your Zoom app is up to date. 
    • Registration for this class will close two days before the class open date.
    • You will receive your login instructions to access Schoology for course materials and the link to join the live meeting one day in advance of the class open date.  
    • Make sure you enter your email address correctly when registering.
    • You will receive access through Schoology to a recording of the class within 1 to 3 business days following each session. Access expires after 30 days.
    • Please add adulteducation@ncarboretum.org to your contacts to ensure our emails do not end up in your spam folder.
