In this introduction to Creativity as a Response to Climate Grief: Weaving Together Nature, Art, and Community, we will explore our connections to nature through an experiential exercise, simple writing response and group discussion. We will begin to look at how nature, community, and creativity can be an active part of healing ourselves and healing the earth.

Cynthia Shealy is a certified EMDR Consultant, registered yoga teacher, expressive arts therapist, and budding ecotherapist. She has a private therapy practice in Asheville, NC, where she works with individuals and leads community expressive arts workshops. Her “whole person” approach incorporates the therapeutic tools of Ecotherapy, somatic approaches, mindfulness, humor, creativity, yoga, movement, and a healthy dose of curiosity and self-compassion. Cynthia believes that nature provides the perfect partner for deeper exploration on the micro/macro level.
