The Enveloping Landscape: Learn more about the power of everyday photography to animate love, encourage meaningful dialogue, and most importantly, inspire an increased commitment to caring for our common home.
This workshop is open to photographers at all levels.
Deepen your intimacy with the natural world through photography. Teachings in traditional ecological wisdom combine in this workshop with guided practice, time photographing in the field and supportive critiques. Film photography is encouraged but not mandatory. Film and film cameras are available on loan for those who are interested.
Sunday Workshops (optional)
For those photographers interested in going a little deeper with their photographic practice, two optional workshops will be offered on Sunday. First, from 8:30 am - 11:00 am participants are invited to go on a photography walkabout in Bent Creek forest. At 1 pm we will gather again to share work created during the workshop. By utilizing a creative and inspiring inquiry process that is the opposite of a critique, you will share work and learn from your peers. For those who shot the provided B&W film during the workshop, your film will be processed and ready to share on Sunday.
Susan Patrice is a documentary photographer, community artist, and founder of Makers Circle, a nonprofit organization that designs community-based arts projects dedicated to cultural transformation and healing.
