Gardening for the birds is much more than setting out a bird feeder. This class is for gardeners who want to blend the joys of bird-watching with the satisfaction of creating a beautiful and healthy habitat that supports the food, water, shelter and nesting needs of birds. Gardening tips will be included along with landscape design concepts, plant lists, and recommendations for practical reference materials.
Martha Rollefson has been an avid spare-time gardener for almost 40 years. In the last 10 years she turned two back yards into Certified Wildlife Habitats (one in Connecticut and one in Etowah, NC). She is also a certified bird feeding specialist with Wild Birds Unlimited in Hendersonville. She gets great pleasure from sharing her passion for creating garden beauty with establishing a welcoming environment for wildlife.
