What really happens in the indigo vat? Join this focused discussion that draws on the experience of two expert dyers. What does fermentation mean? How to maintain it? The role of the sukumo? What do bacteria really do?  What is reduction? How/why to make wood ash lye? Why add lime as well? Come join the conversation, bringing your own questions and experiences managing the various types of indigo vats. An edited transcript of the day's discussion will be shared with participants for documentation and research purposes.
