Humans are wired to be creative, connected, and compassionate. Yet amidst the non-stop news cycles and daily stresses, we can feel disconnected, or at a loss, on how to respond to the challenges we navigate in the world we inhabit. During this half day retreat, participants will use writing, time in nature, and art making to explore ways to deepen their connection to self, each other and their natural world. There will be time for silence, centering, and connection that can inform our day-to-day lives in the communities we live.

Cynthia Shealy is a certified EMDR Consultant, registered yoga teacher, and expressive arts therapist. She has a private therapy practice in Asheville, NC where she works with individuals and leads community expressive arts workshops in the area. Her “whole person” approach incorporates the therapeutic tools of Ecotherapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, mindfulness, humor, creativity, yoga, movement, and a healthy dose of curiosity and self compassion.
