Arboretum Production Greenhouse Manager June Jolley leads this class on how to be a good plant parent to your houseplants. Jolley shares on-trend resources from the horticulture industry, popular magazines, and social media in this informative class that will make you want to adopt a few new family members of the botanical variety. Topics to be covered include selecting the best plant for different locations and conditions in your home, repotting, fertilizing, managing pests, and pruning. Greenhouse Assistant Terry Dalton demonstrates pruning techniques on a ficus tree.

June Jolley has served as the production greenhouse manager at the Arboretum since 1996, where she is responsible for producing plants for seasonal landscapes, interior plant displays, and sustainable landscapes. She also manages and propagates plants for the Arboretum's plant sales. A graduate of the horticulture technology program at Haywood Community College, she organizes the annual Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Symposium for professionals in the green industry and teaches herbaceous plant propagation classes for the Arboretum. Jolley is a member of AmericaHort, as well as the Association of Education and Research Greenhouse Curators.  When not caring for her own house plants, she enjoys visiting public gardens and plant trade shows.
