“You cannot simply tap your creative nature once and then expect to be done with it.  It is a lifelong process: a continual commitment to being open to possibility, trusting your instincts, experimenting, taking risks, and revising.”  ~ Fran Sorin

Drawing inspiration from Digging Deep: Unearthing Your Creative Roots Through Gardening by Fran Sorin, this workshop explores gardening as a creative process, playing with plants, and finding your gardening "voice."

Lisa Wagner was the director of education at the South Carolina Botanical Garden, Clemson University for almost 20 years, where she taught and lectured on a variety of topics. A plant ecologist by background (Ph.D. in Botany, UC Berkeley), Lisa is a passionate gardener, interested in native plants, wildlife friendly gardening, sustainable gardening, and garden design. She does frequent presentations and classes as a volunteer, on a variety of topics including gardening for nature, designing with native plants, and four-season vegetable gardening. Her gardening blog, Natural Gardening (www.naturalgardening.blogspot.com) reflects her observations about gardening and the natural world.  Her recent blog, Places of the Spirit (www.placesofthespirit.blogspot.com) focuses on her thoughts about being at home in the world.
