This morning session introduces students to Shinrin Yoku, a restorative practice originating in Japan that emphasizes soaking in the sounds, scents and sights of nature for slowing the body, stilling the mind and opening the heart. Participants will experience walking on the Arboretum grounds in a slow, relaxed and mindful way, ending with an informal tea ceremony. Students should wear comfortable clothing and shoes for walking outside as weather permits.
